Got it!

I purchased a glass coffee table on the weekend.  Love the traditional lines.

One more piece in the puzzle (of the living room).

Last thing is the love seat.  I had it recovered a couple years ago and have some left over fabric.   With the new chairs, it is too low now.  The upholsterer is going to add longer legs and a new, longer skirt.   Good thing I'm a pack rat and saved the fabric!

Almost done.

Glass Coffee Table

I'm looking for a glass coffee table for my living room.   I can't find exactly what I'm looking for and there are so many choices.

It is so much trouble to bring one home, see if it works, and if it doesn't, return it to the store. (I've done this once!)

Wouldn't it be nice if a truck came to your house with a selection of coffee tables? You could choose what you wanted and send the rest back!

Worth the wait

In an earlier post, I showed you the chairs I had made for my living room.   They arrived with HUGE tacks that I hated.

The man came Friday to change the tacks!   It is so much better ... now I love these chairs.  The tacks are more subtle and elegant, and English traditional.

OK, I admit, he thought I was nuts to take his picture!!!
Perfection! ... well worth the wait.

Another piece in the puzzle

My re-upholstered chair and ottoman came back today.   I am in LOVE.   The style of the chair was changed and the Robert Allen fabric is just yummmy.

Before:
There was a semi detached back on the chair with buttons, and buttons on the seat and ottoman cushion.    A little grandma-ish.
Inspiration: a classic Bergere chair

After:
Chair was restyled with a flat back, no buttons and a larger seat.  I love it.  The blue matches my love seat and the green lets me bring a new colour into my room.

Another part of my living room make over done .... now I'm out looking for a coffee table!!

Button, Button, Who's got the Button

I don't know why, but I love the look of old white buttons.

Some Assembly Required

My sister (in-law) Donna was out on Wednesday night to celebrate my birthday and have a sleep over.   We ran around to our usual haunts and at Loblaws they had their BBQs on sale ... so I bought one.

Thank goodness nothing was open on Canada Day ... we needed the whole day to put it together.    The instruction book said it would take 30 minutes ..... so 2 1/2 hours later we had it together.    We are both handy girls so I don't think it could have been done faster.

Taking it for a test run .... chicken and asparagus!!!

Tip:   Donna says her father always sprinkles garlic powder or garlic salt on the BBQ when he fires it up .... it drives the neighbours wild because it smells so good.    Nice neighbour!!!!!!
